“Everyone agreed that in Quechua Qoya translates to “Queen” – more specifically, the feminine manifestation of a higher consciousness.”

Qoya is a practice of inspired movements that revives our intuition, nourishes our creativity and reminds us of the pleasure of living and moving in our bodies and in our lives.

It is a mixture of free dance, yoga and sensual movements (which activate the senses), organized in an arch of 13 pillars which allows us to return to our sensations.

Qoya is also an engaged movement practice that aims to create safe, inclusive and joyful spaces. It supports us to take care of our nervous system, feel our truth and express it, in order to engage with our communities and this world in a fair way.

In Qoya, we consider that through movement we can return to our essence, to this part of us that has always existed. It is said that our essence is Wise, Wild and Free.

Wise, Wild and Free also refers to the movements that we practice in a Qoya class:

  • Sage, for internal wisdom, which can also be called Intuition, we rely on practices that carry ancestral wisdom such as yoga or meditation;

  • Wild, for the creative part of our being, which does not need to take a dance class to know how to move, we use free dance;

  • Free, for the ability to enjoy moving in one's body and claiming the pleasure of our sensations, through so-called sensual movements, which activate the senses.

In Qoya, it is impossible to make a mistake and the only way to know that we are doing Qoya well is because IT FEELS GOOD.

There is no beginner or intermediate level in Qoya. There is just the level where we have a body and we are ready to experience moving it by following our sensations. It is accessible for all bodies.

Qoya does not require any particular physical abilities. You can always contact us to make sure the courses are suitable.

A Qoya course is given in a gender-neutral manner. The emphasis is on sensations and internal exploration, not identity.

We often say: ''Come as you are, leave even more of who you are! ''
